Description
Alice Ripley, one of Broadway’s brightest stars, is bringing a special program to The CENTER for Performing Arts on the evening of August 22. Her performance is one of the highlights of The CENTER’s Annual Gala.
Ms. Ripley received the TONY Award for her passionate performance of Diana Goodman in Next to Normal. She also starred on Broadway in Side Show (TONY nom), Sunset Boulevard, The Who’s Tommy, Les Misérables and The Rocky Horror Show. She is also an accomplished recording artist and a frequent concert performer.
She’s put together a program of some of her favorite songs and stories for what promises to be an unforgettable, dazzling evening of songs and stories from this most talented and exciting artist.
The evening will also include live and silent auctions of vacation getaways, art, dining and entertainment offerings, and hors d’oeuvres and desserts provided by award winning restaurateur Josh Kroner of Terrapin Restaurant.
Proceeds from the event will be used in part toward The CENTER’s unsurpassed educational efforts that have reached thousands of children with outstanding programming, workshops and camps.
The CENTER began 21 years ago as a tent east of the Village of Rhinebeck. Now “the big red barn” is an integral part of the community, offering blockbuster productions of major musicals and dramas, an annual Shakespeare Festival, Saturday Morning programming geared toward families and, of course, educational programming.
Major support for the Gala is from RiverStone Wealth Management.
Tickets for the Gala are $50 per person. Call the box office at (845) 876-3080 or go to The CENTER’s website at www.centerforperformingarts.org for more information and reservations to this very special event—a show and an evening you don’t want to miss.
The CENTER, a non-profit arts and education organization, is located at 661 Route 308, three miles east of the village center in Rhinebeck.
