Nov 16    Chancellor Livingston DAR Open House
We would like to invite you to join us in celebrating the completion of the renovation & preservation of our historic General Richard Montgomery & Janet Livingston chapter house, the oldest dwelling in the village dating back to the 1750s.

This will be the first time in over 25 years that the entire first floor of the house will be open to the public, and probably the only time in the foreseeable future, since half of the house is our caretaker’s apartment.

As you may know, the other half of the house is our museum where we educate school children and the public about colonial life, Richard Montgomery & his pivotal role in the Revolutionary War, and also tell about his wife Janet Livingston as a woman of strength & industry. The General Richard Montgomery House is listed on the New York State Revolutionary War Trail, and is an accredited museum on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Rhinebeck Village Historic District.
