DESCRIPTION:Ceremonies will begin at 9:15 A.M. in the hamlet of Rhinecliff. The American Legion Firing Squad commanded by Dennis McGuire will salute the honored dead followed by a brief lag raising ceremony.\n\n\n\nLine up for the parade through the Village of Rhinebeck will begin at 9:30 A.M. at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds. The parade will step off at 10:30 A.M. sharp from the corner of Mulberry Street and Platt Avenue. The parade will proceed south on Mulberry Street\, turn west onto East Market Street and stop at Village and Town Halls for simultaneous flag raisings and a wreath laying ceremony at the Doughboy Statue. The parade will then proceed west on East Market Street and turn south on Mill Street then stop for a flag raising at the United States Post Office. The Parade will then proceed south to the Rhinebeck Cemetery where Memorial services will be held and there will be a wreath laying at the Civil War monument. The parade will then proceed north on Mill St for flag raising ceremonies at the Legion Park and at the Legion home. The parade will be led by the Rhinebeck High School Band. There will be refreshments following the parade at the Legion Post.\n\n\n\nGuest speaker for this year's services will be United States Marine Corps Lt. Colonel Craig C. Wirth.\n\n \n\nThe invocation and benediction will be offered by Pastor Luis Perez\, Rhinebeck Reformed Church\, Rhinebeck\, New York.\n\n \n\nMayor Jim Reardon states "I would like to thank the members of American Legion Post #429\, Rhinebeck for sponsoring this important event in our community for many years. Without their hard work and dedication none of this would be possible. It is important to understand the meaning of this day and I encourage everyone\, especially those with young children to instill in their young ones what Memorial Day is all about and to never forget those that sacrificed so much on our behalf".
